Slain and restored by God

What is Jesus saying personally to me today – Slain and redeemed by God

Death his everywhere in the bible, death of our physical bodies and of our emotional or egotistical body. Both of them can be painful, maybe there is nothing more painful than this dying in to Christ. So at the point of painful experiences there is a choice to turn to God for the restoration or to stay in the place where humans deal with it in a human way not in a godly way. God doesn’t necessarily make all these things happen but he is there wanting to help, to fill, comfort and reshape us if we want and are open to it.

Thank you for speaking to me Jesus

How do I respond to what Jesus is saying personally to me today?

Something is dying inside me and it is so painful it brings me to tears. There is only one way to turn, to open to, but even then I am finding it difficult. It is as if my ego senses the threat and is digging in for the battle not wanting to let go of its control over my thoughts and feelings. I really hope that I can do this opening to receive God and allow myself to be slain and restored by Jesus. I have committed to it and all I can do now is pray and surrender to the experience.

I die into your loving heart.
If I turn away bring me back.
Help me to fight the thoughts in my head that are not of the new creation you are building within me

Psalm 77(78):1-2,34-38

Do not forget the works of the Lord!
Give heed, my people, to my teaching;
turn your ear to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in a parable
and reveal hidden lessons of the past.
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
When he slew them then they would seek him,
return and seek him in earnest.
They would remember that God was their rock,
God the Most High their redeemer.
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
But the words they spoke were mere flattery;
they lied to him with their lips.
For their hearts were not truly with him;
they were not faithful to his covenant.
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
Yet he who is full of compassion
forgave them their sin and spared them.
So often he held back his anger
when he might have stirred up his rage.
