What is Jesus saying personally to me today – Signposts

Jesus gives us credit for being able to see or know the the truth but he also rebukes the crowd for ignoring it. There is a part of us that knows right from wrong, fake from real, what’s from God and what’s from us and this is what Jesus almost begs us to concentrate on. He assumes confidently that as children of God there is a connection that needs to become conscious not buried behind our selfishness, self orientated desires. He leaves signposts all over the place for us to see and become aware of.

Thank you for speaking to me Jesus

How do I respond to what Jesus is saying personally to me today?

There is a film over my eyes and ears at the moment but I do not for one minute believe that God has abandoned me. Today’s reading says to me to have faith, spend sometime sitting so that I can see the signposts. For the first time in a long time I have a fear of losing something dear to me and there must be something that God is showing me that I haven’t been able to see. Prayer and fasting just like Jesus and all the great saints did is my to be my response.

Prayer:

Lord,
I need your grace to see your signs, your ways and presence in among all this.
I surrender to what ever your desires are.
Quiet my mind, settle my body
Amen

Luke 12:54-59

Jesus said to the crowds: ‘When you see a cloud looming up in the west you say at once that rain is coming, and so it does. And when the wind is from the south you say it will be hot, and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the face of the earth and the sky. How is it you do not know how to interpret these times?
‘Why not judge for yourselves what is right? For example: when you go to court with your opponent, try to settle with him on the way, or he may drag you before the judge and the judge hand you over to the bailiff and the bailiff have you thrown into prison. I tell you, you will not get out till you have paid the very last penny.’
