What is Jesus saying personally to me today – Scraps or delicacies
One persons scraps are another persons delicacies as it is perceived by the woman in the reading. The message or question for me is how do we perceive the small things, the blessings, are we looking at them as deficient, not enough, wishing for more or accepting them as a great feast and blessing?
Thank you for speaking to me Jesus
How do I respond to what Jesus is saying personally to me today?
Where is my focus today? It must be on the all the things that God is offering, small or big, crumbs or the whole meal, the size is not important, what it represents and how I receive or perceive it is. Today I will focus on all delicacies that God is providing me, be grateful and thankful because it will not be hard to see how generous God is being to me right now.
All that you give are delicacies of unmeasurable value.
Give the grace to see your hand at work in my life with an attitude of gratitude
Thank you Jesus for blessing me abundantly
Jesus left Gennesaret and withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. Then out came a Canaanite woman from that district and started shouting, ‘Sir, Son of David, take pity on me. My daughter is tormented by a devil.’ But he answered her not a word. And his disciples went and pleaded with him. ‘Give her what she wants,’ they said ‘because she is shouting after us.’ He said in reply, ‘I was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.’ But the woman had come up and was kneeling at his feet. ‘Lord,’ she said ‘help me.’ He replied, ‘It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the house-dogs.’ She retorted, ‘Ah yes, sir; but even house-dogs can eat the scraps that fall from their master’s table.’ Then Jesus answered her, ‘Woman, you have great faith. Let your wish be granted.’ And from that moment her daughter was well again.
