Its ok to ask

What is Jesus saying personally to me today – Its ok to ask

Bless your servant and I shall live and obey your word. Open my eyes that I may see. The first part of the psalms reads like those that are happy do all the right things and it is easy to feel separate from that if you are not happy or doing all the right things. Lucky for some of us that at the end of the passage there is a call, a plea or declaration of seeking a blessing so that we may see all the wonders of God. This says to me that it is ok to ask for a blessing and better to focus on God’s generosity rather than feeling not good enough.

Thank you for speaking to me Jesus

How do I respond to what Jesus is saying personally to me today?

I am sure that most people who know me well would say that I am too hard on myself and they are completely correct. It’s a program that runs in my head that I find so hard to stop and reboot. It’s in my upbringing, my genetics and family history to be like this and no one asks for help including me. Today I will ask for help from God in the form of a blessing so that I can see his wonders and know him just as much as he knows I can handle. It’s ok to ask, it’s ok to ask, it’s ok to ask!!

Prayer:

Lord,
bless me with a little knowledge of you so that my eyes may become open.
As your son, I seek you and need you
Amen

Psalm 118(119):1-2,10-11,17-18

Happy are they who follow the law of the Lord!

They are happy whose life is blameless,
who follow God’s law!
They are happy who do his will,
seeking him with all their hearts.

Happy are they who follow the law of the Lord!

I have sought you with all my heart;
let me not stray from your commands.
I treasure your promise in my heart
lest I sin against you.

Happy are they who follow the law of the Lord!

Bless your servant and I shall live
and obey your word.
Open my eyes that I may see
the wonders of your law.
