It’s me not you

What is Jesus saying personally to me today – It’s me not you

Even if you could take the splinter from someone else’s eye, the plank would still remain in our own eyes. This says to me that when we are seeking to find answers of love, fulfilment and happiness through the relationship with another, it will never happen unless we do the inner work on ourselves first. Stop looking at the faults in someone else because its me not you that needs the healing.

Thank you for speaking to me Jesus

How do I respond to what Jesus is saying personally to me today?

Yet another strong message on the same theme for me this week. A little bit of knowledge followed up confirmation followed up today with a clear message of its me not anyone else that makes me happy. In me I mean the relationship with God and me within Him. As I was thinking how hard its going to be to do yesterdays application of fasting and prayer, this just confirms how important it is and how much God wants me to go to that place with him. Thank you Jesus!!!

As much as it feels somewhat uncomfortable, I hear and respond.
Thank you for not giving up on me.
I look forward to spending more time with you in silence and contemplation.

Luke 6:39-42

Jesus told a parable to the disciples: ‘Can one blind man guide another? Surely both will fall into a pit? The disciple is not superior to his teacher; the fully trained disciple will always be like his teacher. Why do you observe the splinter in your brother’s eye and never notice the plank in your own? How can you say to your brother, “Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,” when you cannot see the plank in your own? Hypocrite! Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly enough to take out the splinter that is in your brother’s eye.’
