Accept or reject

What is Jesus saying personally to me today – Accept or reject

In the face of such power, of something that is beyond human understanding, we can either run to or run away from it. The temptation to remain or stay in any situation even if it is not a good one, is sometimes more appealing than going into the unknown. In our minds we rationalise the safest place and assess the possibilities, the thing is, Jesus provides evidence of his path or the path that he offers us. There are choices here that we can make, stay or move, truth or safety, love or fear, trust or suspicion, it’s up to us to accept or reject all that God has and wants to give us and it’s definitely worth the risk.

Thank you for speaking to me Jesus

How do i respond to what Jesus is saying personally to me today?

I was one of the town folk and out of fear of what he was going to ask me to do, rejected the hand of Jesus for many years . I deeply empathise with them but since I took his hand I have predominantly been accepting of the things that he has asked of me and received much grace and healing as a result. This message is confirming for me but also a reminder to be compassionate for those that reject the offer. I am faced with so many people that are living in fear, confusion, frustration, anxiety and anger and some of those people are directing their inner feelings towards me as the source of their problems. Today I am called to love them, pray for them, be compassionate and see myself in all as we are all one anyway. Today I write a list of people to intentionally pray for them including those that reject the offer of truth and love.

Prayer:

Lord,
I offer up all those that reject you to receive your mercy and love.
Bring to my mind all those that you want me to pray for and to love.
I accept your offer
Amen

Matthew 8:28-34

When Jesus reached the country of the Gadarenes on the other side of the lake, two demoniacs came towards him out of the tombs – creatures so fierce that no one could pass that way. They stood there shouting, ‘What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before the time?’ Now some distance away there was a large herd of pigs feeding, and the devils pleaded with Jesus, ‘If you cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.’ And he said to them, ‘Go then’, and they came out and made for the pigs; and at that the whole herd charged down the cliff into the lake and perished in the water. The swineherds ran off and made for the town, where they told the whole story, including what had happened to the demoniacs. At this the whole town set out to meet Jesus; and as soon as they saw him they implored him to leave the neighbourhood.
